MUNICIPALITY OF MARKSTAY-WARREN - Members of the Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), are continuing their investigation into a two-vehicle collision between a transport truck and a sport utility vehicle (SUV) that occurred at approximately 10:20 a.m. on April 17, 2018 on Highway 17 east of Markstay, Ont.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene. She has been identified as 65-year-old Lise Myre from Sudbury, Ont. The driver of the transport truck sustained minor injuries.
Highway 17 was closed for approximately seven hours while police conducted an investigation. The investigation is continuing however it has been determined that road and weather conditions were not a factor in this collision.
As a result of the investigation, no charges will be laid.
