Traffic stop results in drug charges

On Sunday, Dec. 10, 2017, at approximately 12:50 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Superior East (White River) Detachment had occasion to stop a motor vehicle on Highway 17 in the Vasiloff Township District of Algoma for a traffic violation. During the investigation police located a quantity of marijuana. 

As a result Camiche Lual, aged 27 of Brampton, Ont. was arrested and charged with the following offences;

  • Adult possession of a schedule II substance- cannabis marijuana - Under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act,
  • Adult fail to comply with probation order contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

David Greaves, aged 22 of Mississauga, Ont. was arrested and charged with the following offence;

  • Adult possession of a schedule II substance- cannabis marijuana - Under 30 grams contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused were held for bail hearing.
