Traffic stop results in charges for Elliot Lake man

On April 8, 2018 at approximately 4:15 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Drivers Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check program on Pearson Drive and Mississauga Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake, Ont. 

A vehicle was stopped a male driver was found to be in contravention of release conditions. As a result, the male was arrested and charged.

Paul Hutchison, 31 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ont., was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with conditions of undertaking given by officer in charge, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on April 9, 2018.
