On Oct. 18, 2017, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were on patrol duties in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 5 p.m., police observed a westbound vehicle on Causley Street and initiated a traffic stop. Investigation determined the male driver was suspended. The vehicle was impounded and his driver's licence seized.

As a result of the investigation, Robert Middaugh, 29 years of age from Blind River, Ont. was charged with driving while under suspension, contrary to section 53(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.

The accused is schedule to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Nov. 29, 2017.
