On Aug. 28, 2017 at approximately 2 p.m., members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in East Algoma responded to a disturbance call at a residence on Capital Place in Elliot Lake.
Police attended and arrested one male who was later released. Shortly after being released, the male required medical attention and was transported to a local hospital.
As a result of this interaction, the OPP was notified that the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) had invoked its mandate. Any inquiries should be directed to SIU Communications at (416) 622-2342.
