NEWS RELEASE
ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE
*************************
On Sept. 14, 2019, at approximately 9:05 p.m. members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police responded to numerous noise complaint calls at a townhouse complex on Spruce Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.

The complainant reported very loud music being played at a unit within the complex. The music had [allegedly] been playing for approximately three hours and was so loud, the walls were shaking in neighbouring townhouses. Police attended the townhouse and spoke to a male who was [allegedly] belligerent with officers but agreed to turn the music down. Approximately five minutes after police departed from the area, the male turned the music up even louder than it was the first time.

Police were called to re-attend and determined the extremely loud music was in fact coming from the same townhouse. This time the male would not speak to police and refused to open his door. Again, police advised the male to turn the music down numerous times with still no response. Police breached the door and [allegedly] found the male on his living room couch in a highly intoxicated state. He was subsequently arrested and the stereo and speakers were seized.

Andrew Logan, 43 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Mischief - obstructs, interrupts or interferes with the lawful use, enjoyment, or operation of property, contrary to section 430(1)(c) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Oct. 29, 2019.
