Police respond to 750 calls for service

BLIND RIVER - During the month of December, 2018 members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to 750 calls for service (CFS) which included the following:

  • 17 violence-related incidents
  • 30 property-related incidents
  • Two drug-related incidents
  • Eight impaired incidents
  • Eight warn range suspensions
  • 31 motor vehicle collisions

Members from the East Algoma, patrol the highways to ensure road safety and conduct traffic enforcement throughout the areas of Elliot Lake, Spanish, Blind River, Township of the North Shore, Municipality of Huron Shores, Thessalon, Bruce Mines, Johnson Township, Tarbutt-Tarbutt Additional, St Joseph Island, Serpent River First Nation, Mississauga First Nation and Thessalon First Nation.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, don't drive. Instead arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi or public transit, stay overnight or stay home.
