Police arrest two after investigating trespass complaint

Officers from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged two people with break-and-enter, theft and mischief after responding to a trepasss complaint in Blind River.

On May 26 shortly after 7 a.m. police spoke to the complainant, who owns a camp on the North Chanel of Lake Huron, a news release said. The owner had video footage of two people trespassing on the property earlier in the morning, the release said.

Police visited the island using an OPP boat and found a silver aluminum boat pulled up on a rocky shore. Shortly after 8 a.m. officers located two people inside a shed and placed them under arrest.

Nash Mills, 26, from Perth was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Break, enter a place-commit indictable offence
  • Possession of break in instruments

Amanda Leclair, 37, from Blind River was charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000
  • Mischief Under $5,000
  • Break, enter a place-commit indictable offence

Both suspects are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 6.
