MASSEY - On March 29, 2020, at approximately 5:33 p.m. members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with the assistance of the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation unit (TTCI), the Sables-Spanish Rivers Fire Department and Sudbury-Manitoulin Emergency Medical Services (EMS), responded to a multiple vehicle motor vehicle collision (MVC) on Highway 17, Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
One of the drivers was transported to the hospital by EMS, with serious injuries. Two other individuals involved had minor injuries.
As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old from Windsor, was charged with:
- Careless driving cause bodily harm contrary to section 130(3) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
The accused was issued a provincial offence notice for the charge.
