No licence plates leads to impaired driving charges near Blind River

Vehicle was impounded for seven days, drivers licence suspended for 90 days

A driver faces impaired charges following a traffic stop near Blind River.

Police witnessed a vehicle with no visible licence plates back out of a driveway in Mississauga First Nation around 5 p.m. on Saturday and initiated a traffic stop.

"While speaking to the driver police determined alcohol had been consumed and a subsequent arrest was made," says a news release issued by OPP. "With the assistance from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police the driver was then transported to Blind River detachment for further testing."

As a result, 34-year-old Dainith Toulouse of Mississauga First Nation appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Blind River on Sept. 29 and stands charged with:
    •    Operation while impaired - alcohol
    •    Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
    •    Failure to comply with undertaking

Toulouse's vehicle was impounded for seven days with they were issued a 90-day administrative drivers licence suspension.
