BLIND RIVER - On April 23, 2018, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 11 a.m., police were stationary on Causley Street conducting radar and licence plate checks. An officer observed a westbound car pass his location and initiated a traffic stop. The driver provided the officer and expired insurance card.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Folz, 21 years of age from Gravenhurst, Ontario was charged with: Operate Motor Vehicle Without Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 20, 2018.
