Niagara Falls man charged in multiple thefts

Ontario Provincial Police in Little Current investigated multiple thefts from vehicles on Monday

LITTLE CURRENT - On Oct. 28, 2019, officers from the Manitoulin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to multiple thefts from vehicles on Dupont Street, Hardbargain Road, and Campbell Street, in Little Current, Ont.

Officers conducted an investigation and determined that a stolen credit card was being used from one of the thefts.

As the result of the investigation, Edward Beaudry, 35 years old, from Niagara Falls, Ont., has been charged with:

  • Theft Under $5,000 from a Motor Vehicle - four counts, contrary to section 334(b) of the Criminal Code (CC);
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000 - four counts, contrary to section 355(b) of the CC;
  • Use of Credit Card - three counts, contrary to section 342(1)(c) of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear at bail court before the Ontario Court of Justice in Wikwemikong First Nation on Oct. 30, 2019.

The Manitoulin OPP has outstanding stolen property from this investigation and is urging anyone who may have had their vehicle broken into during this time frame to please contact the Little Current detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
