Commencing on Oct. 28, 2019, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North East Region Crime Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) will continue their investigation into the murder of James Lee (Jimmy) Money by conducting an evidence search at the municipal landfill in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.

On Aug. 11, 2019, human remains were located in a wooded area within the City of Elliot Lake. The remains were confirmed to be those of James Lee (Jimmy) Money who was reported missing in May 2019.

The OPP is requesting the public's cooperation while conducting this search. Although the landfill remains open, the area being searched is being restricted to the public. This is to ensure police are able to carry out their duties safely and effectively.

The investigation is ongoing under the direction of Detective Inspector Laura Houliston, OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB).
