BALDWIN TOWNSHIP - On Jan. 21, 2022, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Hardwood Road in Baldwin Township.

A search of the residence led to the seizure over $5,000 in Canadian currency, over 436 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine and over 2 grams of cocaine. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is over $66,000. Also recovered was a stolen trailer. Two people were arrested and charged.

Travis Roberts, 42 years old from Baldwin Township, is charged with:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine, contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
    •    obstruct peace officer, contrary to section 129(a) of the Criminal Code (CC)
    •    possession property obtained by crime over $5,000 - in Canada (two counts), contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC

Denan Auge, 24 years old from Massey, is charged with:
    •    possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine, contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA

The accused individuals are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola on March 7, 2022.
