Man charged with public intoxication

SPANISH - On Dec. 12, 2017, shortly before 9 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to a complaints of a male yelling in the streets of Stolar Crescent and Garnier Road in the Town of Spanish.

Investigation determined that an intoxicated male was yelling and knocking on doors in the Stolar Crescent and Garnier Road areas asking the residents to call police.

As a result of the investigation, Keifer Lewis, 23 years of age, from Serpent River First Nation, Ontario was issued a provincial offence notice and charged with: Being Intoxicated in a Public Place, contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act.

The male was lodged overnight until he was sober.
