Local man charged with no insurance

BLIND RIVER - On Dec. 14, 2017, shortly after 9 p.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment were on patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly after 9 a.m., police observed a westbound vehicle travelling on Causley Street. A licence plate query was conducted and revealed the vehicle was not insured. The vehicle was towed.

As a result of the investigation, William Woolley, 55 years of age from Elliot Lake, Ontario was charged with: Operate Motor Vehicle without Insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Jan. 31, 2018.
