Local commercial vehicle driver faces charges in Sudbury

SUDBURY - On May 18, 2022 at 2:19 p.m., members from the Sudbury Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a traffic enforcement on a commercial motor vehicle towing a trailer on Highway 144 in the City of Greater Sudbury.

As a result of the investigation, a 46-year-old person from Elliot Lake was charged with:
    •    Fail to notify change of name, contrary to section 9(2) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
    •    Use plate not authorized for vehicle, contrary to section 12(1)(d) of the HTA
    •    Defective brakes - commercial motor vehicle, contrary to section 64(7) of the HTA
    •    Operate vehicle - fail to display inspection sticker or proof, contrary to section 85(1) of the HTA

The accused was issued four Provincial Offence Notices with set fines.
