On Aug. 13, 2017, shortly before 11 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded a harassment complaint at a residence on Axmith Avenue in the City of Elliot Lake.
Investigation determined that a male attended his ex-wife's residence and began an argument outside the home with her and her boyfriend.
The ex-husband (allegedly) threatened to physically harm both of them. Officers also determined while the female and her ex-husband were together, she was (allegedly) physically assaulted by him.
As a result, a 45-year-old male from Elliot Lake was charged with:
- Uttering threats - Cause death or bodily harm - Spousal, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC);
- Uttering threats - Cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the CC; and with
- Assault - Spousal, contrary to section 266 of the CC.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on Oct. 3, 2017.
