Espanola man charged with possession of a controlled substance

He is also charged with breaching court imposed conditions

LITTLE CURRENT - On July 16, 2019, members of the Manitoulin detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a male breaching his release conditions in the Town of Espanola, Ontario.

The accused was previously charged and released with conditions to abide by. The male was found to be in breach of those conditions imposed by the court.

Julien (Joseph) Demers, 35 years of age, of Espanola, Ontario, was charged with:

  •  Three counts of fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code (CC)
  • Two counts of possession of a controlled substance, contrary to section 4(1) of the Controlled Drug and Substances Act

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Sudbury, Ontario on July 18, 2019.
