Elliot Lake resident charged after being found in Blind River

BLIND RIVER - On July 2, 2020 shortly after 7:30 p.m., members from East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 near the Town of Blind River.

Police located the vehicle seven minutes later at a local restaurant parking lot on Causley Street. Police approached the vehicle and found a passenger in the front seat and a passenger in the rear seat. A query of a rear passenger revealed that passenger was breaching a condition.

As a result of the investigation, Jessie Fournier, age 25 from Elliot Lake, was charged with:
    •    Failure to comply with release order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice video bail in Blind River on July 3, 2020 and was remanded into custody.
