Elliot Lake man accused of driving without insurance

Investigation revealed that the vehicle was not insured

On March 17, 2018 at 4:52 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) members were on regular patrol duties on Hillside Drive South, in the City of Elliot Lake, Ontario.

Police checked a vehicle license plate and a traffic stop was initiated. Investigation revealed that the vehicle was not insured. Subsequently, the driver was charged.

Denis Hould, 62 years of age, from Elliot Lake, Ont. was charged with:  

  • Operate motor vehicle on a highway - no insurance, contrary to section 2(1)(a) of the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on May 2, 2018.
