Domestic disturbance leads to assault charge for Espanola man

ESPANOLA - On Friday, April 26, 2019, at approximately 8:30 a.m., officers from the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Town of Espanola, Ont.

As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old male from Espanola, Ont. has been charged with:

  • assault - spousal, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Espanola, on June 17, 2019.

In order to protect the identity of the victim, the name of the accused is not being released.
