Domestic disturbance call results in charges for Spanish resident

SPANISH - On March 12, 2021 shortly after 3:30 a.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a domestic disturbance at a residence in the Town of Spanish.

As a result of the investigation, a 27-year-old person from Spanish, was arrested and charged with:

  • Forcible entry, contrary to section 72(1) of the Criminal Code (CC); and with
  • Failure to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(4)(a) of the CC (two counts)

The accused appeared before the Ontario Court of Justice Video Bail Court in Blind River on March 12, 2021 and was remanded into custody.

The OPP will not release the name of the accused in order to protect the identity of the victim.
