Disturbance call leads to charge for Spragge man

TOWNSHIP OF THE NORTH SHORE- On Dec. 5, 2018 shortly after 12 a.m., members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to disturbance at a local motel in the village of Spragge.

Investigation determined that two males had been consuming alcohol and an argument ensued. As police were speaking to one of the males, he became agitated and aggressive towards police.

As a result of the investigation, Dennis Pelky, 62 years of age from Spragge, Ont. was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place, contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act.

The accused was taken to East Algoma Blind River detachment where he was lodged until sober.
