On June 26, 2018, members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received information that a known female caregiver was in breach of previous release conditions.

Police spoke to the complainant who was concerned for their elderly neighbour who was being looked after by a known female. After police investigation, the female was found to be in violation of conditions from a previous release document.

On July 3, 2018 she was subsequently arrested and charged.

Gisele Davis, 68 years of age of Elliot Lake, Ont., was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code (CC)

The accused was scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River, Ont. on July 4, 2018.
