On Oct. 18, 2017, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment responded to an intoxicated male passenger on the Greyhound Bus that was consuming liquor and had become belligerent with other passengers. The bus had pulled over in the Town of Spanish and would wait for officers to attend.

Police attended the area a short time later and observed an intoxicated male standing outside the bus. As a result of the investigation Steven Balogh, 47 years of age from Bastard-South Burgess Township, Ontario, was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place, contrary to section 31(4) of the Liquor Licence Act.
