BLIND RIVER - On April 25, 2019 at approximately 7:30 p.m., members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a complaint of a break, enter and theft at a local motel.

While officers were investigating the break and enter, they responded to a complaint of a person attempting to steal from another local business.

As a result of the investigation, Jasmine Wright, a 30-year-old female with no-fixed-address, was charged with the following:

  • Break, enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC); and
  • Theft under $5,000, contrary to section 334(b) of the CC; and
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the CC

She was released on a promise to appear and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 6, 2019.
