Blind River resident accused of assaulting three people

Police say they responded to a domestic dispute where an ex-spouse entered a residence

On June 6, 2020, at approximately 2 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a domestic dispute in the Town of Blind River.  

Investigation determined an ex-spouse had attended and entered a residence on Solomon Street and physically assaulted three people.

As a result of the investigation, a 36-year-old, from Blind River was charged with:

  • Utter threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Two counts of assault, contrary to section 266 of the CC,
  • Assault - spousal, contrary to section 266 of the CC,
  • Break, enter dwelling house - commit indictable offence, contrary to section 348(1)(b) of the CC, and with
  • Mischief, domestic, contrary to section 430(4) of the CC.
  •  

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on Aug. 6, 2020.
