BLIND RIVER - On Feb. 19, 2019, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police were on patrol on Centre Street in the Town of Blind River.

Shortly before 6 p.m., police observed a male known to them operating a backhoe on Centre Street that was disqualified. A traffic stop was initiated and the male was arrested. The backhoe was towed.

As a result of the investigation, Michael Setchell, 45 years of age from Blind River, Ont. was charged with: operation while prohibited (x2), contrary to section 320.18 of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on April 4, 2019.
