Blind River man, 71, accused of sexually assaulting a youth

BLIND RIVER, ON - On April 10, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m., members from the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a sexual assault of a young person in the Town of Blind River.

As a result of the investigation, Arnold McDonald, 71 years of age, from Blind River was arrested and charged with:

  • Sexual assault on a person under 16 years of age, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC),
  • Invitation to sexual touching under 16 years of age, contrary to section 152 of the CC, and
  • Sexual interference, contrary to section 152 of the CC.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River in June, 2020.
