MISSISSAUGA FIRST NATION - On April 23, 2020, a member from the Mississauga First Nation Police Service responded to a threats complaint within the Territory of Mississauga First Nation.
Police determined on the evening of April 21, 2020, a message was received by the complainant/victim via social media where the victim was going to be physically harmed.
As a result of the investigation, on May 3, 2020, Brooklyn Merceica, age 20 from Mississauga First Nation, was arrested and charged with:
• Uttering threats - cause death or bodily harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a) of the Criminal Code.
The accused was released by way of Undertaking and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on July 2, 2020.
