Annual Torch Run set for Friday

The annual event will begin at 3 p.m. in Elliot Lake and 5 p.m. in Blind River

On Friday, June 28, 2019, members of the East Algoma Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are participating in the Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, sponsored by the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police. We are happy to announce that East Algoma will be hosting the run in both Elliot Lake and Blind River, Ont.

In Elliot Lake, the Torch Run will kick off at 3 p.m., in the Scotiabank parking lot on Manitoba Road and will proceed to the Elliot Lake OPP Detachment at 47 Hillside Drive North.

In Blind River, the Torch Run will start at 5 p.m., at W.C. Eaket Secondary School at 147 Woodward Avenue in Blind River, Ontario and will end behind the Blind River town hall at the gazebo located just off Chiblow Street.

All ages are welcome to attend and run, jog or walk. Please join us and local Special Olympians for some cheering while carrying the torch!
