26-year-old facing charge of failing to attend court

On Feb. 17, 2021, at approximately 11 a.m. the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called in relation to a person passed out in a hallway at an apartment building on Mississauga Avenue in Elliot Lake.

Police and Algoma Paramedic Services attended the location. The person was assessed and released by paramedics. Police arrested the person for failing to attend court at a previous date.

Myranda Francoeur, 26 years of age, of Elliot Lake was charged with:

  • Fail to comply with appearance notice - court/fingerprinting, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake, Ont. on April 6, 2021.
