Tessier Daniela

It is with great heartache that we announce the sudden passing of Daniela on December 14, 2019 at Health Sciences North in Sudbury. Daniela is survived by Marcel, her loving, supportive husband and best friend of 47 years. Devoted mother to Tanya and son-in-law Jeff Mitchell of Blind River. Cherished Nonni to her grandchildren, Bailey, Theo and Nash. Caring sister of Lawrence Bertulli (Debbie) of Goodyear, Arizona. Daniela will be fondly remembered by numerous brother-in-law’s, sister-in-law’s, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Daniela was born in Fano, Italy on December 6, 1948 to Valentino and Edera Bertulli (nee Longarini). She and her parents immigrated to Canada in 1951 and settled in Sudbury. After graduating from Teachers College, she accepted a teaching position in Blind River where she met her husband Marcel, raised her daughter, and was an exceptional teacher at St. Marys for over thirty years.

Daniela was immensely proud of her family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories and cherished traditions. She was a wonderful listener, always kind, focussed on the positive side of things and believed everything happened for a reason. She could always be counted on for good advice and unconditional love and support.

Daniela had a special bond with each of her grandchildren. They will miss their Nonni’s famous pizza, lasagna, pasta sauce and shrimp. They also loved her motto that they could have anything they wanted when they were in her care because she was the boss.

A Celebration of Daniela’s life will take place next summer at the camp on Lake Duborne where she enjoyed sitting by the lake, visiting with her family and enjoying the warmth of the sun. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be made to The Canadian Diabetes Association or the North Shore Health Network Foundation (Blind River site).
