(December 18, 1932 – April 17, 2018) - You can stop running now Dad. The family of William “Harry “ Rayner sadly announces his passing in his 86th year at the Algoma Manor on Tuesday April 17, 2018. Dad has moved on to be with his very best friend and soulmate Jean (2010) and his daughter Verna (2014). Left behind to mourn his passing are Robert (Carol), Bill and Don (Sheila),  grandchildren Melanie Wainwright ( Derek), Darrell MacLeod (Lindsay), Dana Boissonneault (Dan), Dale Rayner and 5 Great Grandchildren.  Dad was born and raised in Kirkland Lake,Ontario and raised by his mother from the age of 2. He had one older brother Bert (deceased). Dad joined Ontario Hydro in November 1950, one month shy of his 18th birthday. He traveled to various power plants in Northern Ontario for training. One stop was in Wharncliffe where he met this “ Pretty blond girl”. After a short stay he moved on to another station. Six months later a job came open in Wharncliffe and Dad applied for the job and got it. Dad and Mom where married October 19, 1953. Dad worked for Hydro for 37.5 years. He loved his job there.  The rest as they say is history.   Friends may call at the Thessalon Bible Chapel on Saturday April 21, 2018 from 11am until time of service at 1pm with Charlie Martin officiating.  Spring interment in Pine Grove Cemetery.  Donations to the Algoma Manor Charitable Foundation or the North Shore Health Network Auxiliary - Thessalon Site gratefully accepted.    We would like to thank the staff past and present at The Algoma Manor (Spruce) for excellent care that dad received. He always spoke very highly of you all.
