Passed away peacefully on August 3, 2018 in the wonderful care of Sakura House in Woodstock, Ont. after a lengthy battle with cancer. Recently predeceased by her loving husband, Dr. Paul Panabaker, Joanne is survived by a large and loving extended family.  Joanne was born in Blind River, Ontario in 1937. Youngest of six children to Donald and Annie MacIver, her siblings were Glen (Buddy) MacIver (wife Yolande), Bernard (Rusty) MacIver (wife Paula), Verna Hoeberg (husband John), Doreen Timmermans, (husband Dick), and Donna Eastman, (husband Emil).   Joanne left Blind River in 1956 as a newlywed, with her first husband John Ukos. A few years after her husband John had deceased she met the love of her life, Paul. They eventually retired back to Blind River bringing her life full circle.  Joanne will be missed by her surviving family, her sons John (wife Susan) of Woodstock and James of Sudbury, and Paul’s children David (wife Lorraine) of Georgetown, Tim (wife Tina) of Toronto, daughter Carolyn (husband Fabien) of Campbellville, and brother Glen (Buddy) MacIver and wife Yolande of Blind River.  Fondly missed as well by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.  Especially close to her heart were her grandchildren, Andre, Joelle, Jake, Mitchell, Julia, Marissa, Emily, and Lillian.  If desired, the family would appreciate donations to the Cancer Assisted Services of Halton Hills, the Canadian Cancer Society and Sakura House in Woodstock where she passed in peace.  A Ceremony of Life will be held with location and date to be posted on the Menard Funeral Home website at www.menardfh.com
