Maurice Maville PIC

August 23, 1934 – February 18, 2019

Passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family in his 85th year. Will be forever missed by Patricia his loving wife, partner and soul mate of 62 years. Treasured father of Cindy Brannan (Pat) and Tammy Maville (Edward). Beloved Grandpa of Stacey Schellekens (Derek) and Chad Schellekens and cherished great grand papa of Kyler, Madison, Karson and A.J. Remembered by his loving sisters Joan and Maggie as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A certified electrician by trade he earned his certificate in 1965 at the International Correspondence School. He worked at McFadden Lumber for 15 years eventually being promoted to Chief Electrician. In 1970, he went on to work for St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Blind River working as the Director of Maintenance and retired in 1993 after 23 years. Maurice was known for his quick-witted humour, straight forward mannerisms and his famous whistling as he walked through the corridors. He was respected and well liked by his colleagues and peers. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and he loved to bake home made bread for his family and friends.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Bayshore, Care Partners and The Alzheimer’s Society as well as Dr. Naccarato all of who came into our home and helped us through this difficult time.

If desired the family appreciates donations to Blind River Food Bank.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life for Maurice on Friday, March 1, 2019 at the Menard Funeral Home in Blind River from 2pm till 4pm and again from 7pm till 9pm.
