Peacefully and with family at her side Mary Ellen in her 63rd year passed away at the North Shore Health Network, Blind River, Ontario on December 1, 2017. She was predeceased by her first husband Ivan Leeson in 1976. Mary Ellen is lovingly remembered by her husband Morris Allen of Iron Bridge and her children William “Billy” (Nancy) Leeson, Kathy (Neal) Leighton, Sonia Valade, Tracy Allen (Gerry), Stephanie (Mark) Pelletier, and Laurie Charrette. Her grandchildren Matt, Jasper, Kendra, Samantha, Cheyenne, Devin, Sydney, Michael and Richard will cherish her memory. She is also remembered by siblings Karen Jensen, Rick Tubman, Kevin Bird and Lynn Bird. Mary Ellen was predeceased by her brother Bill Tubman and her granddaughter Chrissy Charrette. She will be missed by numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen was a well known member of the Iron Bridge community who took pride in her family and friends. She was known as the “neighbourhood Mom” always ready with a snack and a quick tongue to keep everyone in check.
At the request of Mary Ellen there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. The family wishes to thank Dr. Deverell, and the nursing staff of the North Shore Health Network Blind River site. A special thank you to Mary Ellen’s sister Karen Jensen who stayed by her side until her last breath.
