We are saddened to announce the passing of Albert at the North Shore Health Network Blind River in his 95th year.
He was a loving husband to the late Lucille (2019). Lovingly remembered by his daughter Diane Bray (the late Alain). Wonderful and proud grand-father to Nathalie Létourneau (Bobby) and Michel Bray and the late Stéphane Bray (2009). Survived by his brother Gérard Ladéroute (Monique), as well as brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Wilfred (the late Pearl), Carmel Levasseur (the late Paul), Omer, Georges (the late Hélène), Léo, Philippe (the late Velma), Albinie (the late Marguerite), Arthur, André (Joan), Jeannette Forest (Ronald) and Marcel.
Although Albert was legally blind he never let his handicap get the better of him and was determined to succeed. Many remember him from his store Al’s Cycle Shop or having rented an apartment or a cottage from him. He was generous, honest, took pride in his work and loved life. He enjoyed music and dancing, playing cards and hockey, especially his Montreal Canadians. He was at one time a member of the Lion’s Club, was a founding member of the Blind River Richelieu Club and was an active member until his health failed. We will miss his tales and jokes that kept us laughing. He left a lasting impression and will be missed by those who knew him.
The family wishes to thank Dr Deverell and the staff at the hospital as well as the staff at Golden Birches Terrace for their compassionate care. They also would like to thank his private caregivers who went above and beyond.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Menard Funeral Home, 72 Lakeside ave, Blind River on Friday, March 6, 2020 from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral mass will be at Paroisse Ste-Famille, 45 Woodward ave, Blind River, on Saturday, March 7, 2020 beginning at 11am with father Lourdu officiating. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home

C’est avec regret que la famille annonce le décès d’Albert, au Réseau Santé Rive Nord Blind River à l’âge de 94 ans.
Il rejoint l’amour de sa vie, son épouse Lucille, décédée en 2019. Père bien aimé de Diane Bray (feu Alain). Le meilleur grand-père à Nathalie Létourneau (Bobby), Michel Bray et Stéphane Bray décédé en 2009. Il laisse aussi dans le deuil son frère Gérard Ladéroute (Monique), ses beaux-frères, belles-sœurs, plusieurs nièces, neveux et nombreux amis. Prédécédé par ses frères et sœurs : Wilfred (feu Pearl), Carmel Levasseur (feu Paul), Omer, Georges (feu Hélène), Léo, Philippe (feu Velma), Albinie (feu Marguerite), Arthur, André (Joan), Jeannette Forest (Ronald) et Marcel.
Bien qu’il était aveugle Albert a eu beaucoup de succès comme entrepreneur et commerçant. Il est connu pour son magasin Al’s Cycle Shop. Il faisait tout son possible afin que les enfants puissent se procurer ou avoir une bicyclette en bon état. Homme généreux, de service, honnête et d’une joie de vivre contagieuse. Il aimait la musique et la danse, jouer aux cartes et le hockey, surtout ses Canadiens de Montréal. Il a déjà été membre du club des Lions et il fut un membre fondateur du club Richelieu de Blind River. Travaillant et courageux, il était apprécié de tous et ne manquait jamais une occasion d’aider son prochain. Nous manquerons les récits de ses aventures et son humour qui nous faisait toujours rire.
La famille aimerait remercier Dr Mark Deverell et le personnel à l’hôpital ainsi que le personnel à la Terrasse des Bouleaux d’Or pour leurs soins inconditionnels et leur compassion. Aussi on aimerait remercier ses préposées privées qui sont allées au delà de nos attentes dans leurs soins auprès d’Albert.
Des dons à la mémoire d’Albert pourront être faits à Golden Birches Terrace Family Council ou à une charité de votre choix. La famille recevra parents et amis au salon funéraire Ménard de 19:00 à 21:00 vendredi le 6 mars 2020. Un service funéraire aura lieu le 7 mars à 11:00 à la Paroisse Ste-Famille.
