It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Elaine Hicks at the St. Joseph’s General Hospital in Elliot Lake on Sunday January 26, 2020 at the age of 81. Beloved wife of Raymond Hicks of Elliot Lake and predeceased by her first husband Norman Allan. Loving mother of Kim Ducharme (Stephen) of Azilda, Sandra Lavoie (Mike) of North Bay & Barry Allan of Elliot Lake. Dear grandmother of Debra, Chris, Liz, Stephanie, Jason & great grandmother of 12 great grandchildren. Dear sister of Mary Ann McDonald (Alex) of Ajax & pre deceased by her brother William Coppo Jr. (Gale) of Sombra, ON & by her sister Caroline Baronette (Gerry) of Sudbury. Also survived by numerous nieces & nephews. Elaine was an active member of the CWL in Elliot Lake and will be sadly missed by many. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Thursday January 30, 2020 at 11 am from Ste Bernadette Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the St. Joseph’s Foundation of Elliot Lake, Canadian Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 Ontario Ave). The family would like to thank doctors, nurses & staff at St. Joseph’s General Hospital for the care & compassion provided to Elaine & her family throughout the course of her illness.
