(August 1, 1930 – August 13, 2019) - It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Marjorie while surrounded by her relatives and loving family at age 89, while in the professional care of doctors and staff at SAH. Forever remembered by her loving husband Gordon of 53 years, her sons Donald (Brenda) and Bruce (Nora), her grandchildren Sherry, Stephanie, Gary, Jennifer and Jason as well as 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Also survived by her sisters Betty King (the late Clifford) and Keitha Haney (Tom) and brother in law Allen Hern (Sheila). Predeceased by first husband Johnny Mills, brother Kenneth Yates, great grand son Nicholas Barber and brother in law Norman Hern (the late Jean).

Marjorie and Gordon owned and operated Sherwood Lane Farms for over 30 years. She was an active participating contributor to agriculture and the Little Rapids Historical Society. She had a vested interest in the community of churches and lady’s groups in the Thessalon and surrounding areas. She was a previous correspondent for the Sault Daily Star and the community correspondent for The North Shore Sentinel, writing Collver’s Corners. Marjorie enjoyed being employed in retail prior to retirement. Following retirement, she enjoyed travelling abroad as well as attending the Pembrook musical festival for many years.

Appreciation is extended by Marjorie’s family to their many personal friends, contacts and acquaintances for their compassionate support during these difficult times.

The family gratefully accepts donations in memory of Marjorie to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Family and friends are invited to visit at Beggs Funeral Home on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 2pm to 4pm and again from 7pm to 9pm. Funeral service will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel.  Reverend Erasmus Madimbu and Pastor Allen Hern officiating. Interment at Pine Grove Cemetery. Light luncheon after burial. Arrangements entrusted to Beggs Funeral Home.
