(1932 - 2017)– It is with sorrow that the family announce the passing of Marcel Gauthier in Elliot Lake on October 17, 2017 at the age of 84 after a brief battle with cancer. A resident of Elliot Lake since April 1958; married for 65 years to his loving wife Thérèse Gauthier (née Audette) of Elliot Lake. Dear father of Michel Gauthier (Bernadette) of Ottawa, Réjean Gauthier (Suzanne) of Elliot Lake, Denis Gauthier (Madeleine) of Ottawa and Jacques Gauthier (Hélène) of Elliot Lake. Proud grandfather of Pascal (Sarah), Valérie (Nikita), Maryèle (Alice), Françoys (Myriam), Eric, Carinne, Patrick and Stéphanie. Dear great grandfather of Casandra, Zakary, Allysa, Jade, Jasmine, Serina, Leah, Zoé, Yan, Eva, Louka and Rémy. Survived by siblings Fernand Gauthier (Thérèse), Fernande Chartrand-Prevost and members of the Audette family. Pre-deceased by his parents Horace Gauthier and Elmire Lefèvre as well as many brothers, sisters, brothers in law and sisters in law. Dear uncle of numerous nephews, nieces and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 20 from 2-4 and 7-9pm from the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre with the funeral mass being celebrated on Saturday, October 21 at 11:00 am from Paroisse Ste. Marie, cremation to follow. Memorial contributions to the Cancer Society or the St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Fund in Elliot Lake would be appreciated by the family.

Résident d’Elliot Lake depuis avril 1958; il laisse dans le deuil son épouse de 65 ans de marriage Thérèse Gauthier (née Audette) d’Elliot Lake ainsi que ses 4 fils: Michel Gauthier (Bernadette) d’Ottawa, Réjean Gauthier (Suzanne) d’Elliot Lake, Denis Gauthier (Madeleine) d’Ottawa et, Jacques Gauthier (Hélène) d’Elliot Lake. Grand père de Pascal (Sarah), Valérie (Nikita), Maryèle (Alice) Françoys (Myriam), Éric, Carinne, Patrick et Stéphanie. Arrière grand-père de Cassandra, Zakary, Allyssa, Jade, Jasmine, Serina, Leah, Zoé, Yan, Eva, Louka et Rémy. Frère de Fernand (Thérèse) et Fernande Chartrand-Prevost et sa belle grande famille Audette toujours vivants. Pré-décédé par ses parents, Horace and Elmire Lefèvre ainsi que plusieurs frères et soeurs, beaux frères et belles-soeurs défunts. L’oncle spécial de plusieurs neveux et nièces et un homme entouré de beaucoup d’amis. M. Gauthier sera exposé à la résidence funéraire Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre (36 rue Ontario), vendredi le 20 octobre de 14h00 à 16h00 et de 19h00 à 21h00. La messe funéraire sera célébrée le samedi, 21 octobre 2017 à 11h00 à la Paroisse Ste Marie, d’Elliot Lake. L’incinération suivi. Des dons commémoratifs à la Société de Cancer ou au Soins Palliatifs de l’hôpital St. Joseph seraient grandement appréciés par la famille.
