RUDY DUCKSTEIN - Copy (1)
We are saddened to announce that our beloved Rudi passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019 in his 84th year at the Sault Area Hospital with his wife and children by his side.
He and Heidi shared a bond for over 60 years. They travelled the world together but also made home the best place to be. They lived 27 years at the lake, had marvelous get togethers with family and friends… so many wonderful memories. They were both born in Germany but raised their family in Canada. Rudi was a father who cared about his children’s well-being and happiness, a proud Opa who adored his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his son Michael (Annette), grandchildren Lucas and Sabrina and his daughter Stephanie (Paul). He also leaves family members in Germany, his sister Margret (Siegmar), niece Jlona (Peter and son Moritz), sister-in-law Sybille (Guenter), nephews Andreas and Mathias with families, Auntie Rosemarie and family, sister-in-law Gabriele (Heinz), nephew Jochen and Markus and families. He will be missed by our extended family in Canada, Tom Feifel (Ann), son Robin and son Curtis (Julie and daughter Olivia), Peter Feifel (Marta), daughters Tanya (Kurt) and Nikita (Ben) and the late Olivia and Walter Feifel of Goulais River. Rudi cherished all his friends, co-workers, hockey parents and neighbours. He faced life’s challenges head on and was quick witted with a dry sense of humour which was part of his charm.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude for the exceptional kindness and excellent care provided by the Sault Area Hospital staff. A special thank you to Dr. Bowen, Dr. Fera and Dr. Barrie for their devoted care and compassion.
At Rudi’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice and are greatly appreciated by the family.
