It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Daniel Desforges at University Hospital in London, Ontario at the age of 63. Born in Val D’Or Québec and a former resident of Elliot Lake, he moved to Red Lake Ontario in 2001 to continue working in the mines. After retirement, he managed a Fishing Camp in Red Lake.  He loved his summers working and fishing at camp. Loving father of Melanie Desforges (Denis), Manon St. Onge (Jason) and Michael Desforges.  Cherished  grandfather of Austin, Nikole, Sabrina, Alex, Damien, Trinity, Sabien, Temperance, Aria, Kalvin and soon to be, one great grandchild.  Pre-deceased by his parents Jean-Louis and Bernadette (née Hébert) Desforges and brother Alain, Daniel is survived by sisters Nicole Demore (Wilfrid), Monique Desforges, Linda Ducharme (Richard) as well as his wife Mona Desforges.  An active member of the Knights of Columbus, Daniel was also a prominent member of St. John’s Parish in Red Lake.  He will be missed by all who had the joy of knowing him.

In light of the pandemic and restrictions imposed by the province, masks and use of hand sanitizer is mandatory and will be strictly enforced. A small gathering will be held from the Elliot Lake Funeral Chapel & Cremation Centre, 36 Ontario Avenue followed by a Mass Of Christian Burial from Paroisse Ste.
