A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blind River Curling Club on Thursday July 27, 2017 from 3 pm to 5 pm. Refreshments will be served. Please join children Gisele, Broderick, Marc, Michelle, Roque and their families in remembering Georges and his many community accomplishments.
(1928-2017) - Peacefully at Algoma Manor, Thessalon on March 09, 2017, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of the late Cecile Marie (née Leblanc) Albert of Blind River. Dear father of Gisèle Johnson (Lorne) of Warren, Maxine Habel (Jean-Pierre) of Sault Ste Marie, Broderick Albert (Marion) of Blind River, Marc Albert (Micheline) of Chelmsford, Michelle Juuti (Robert) of Elliot Lake, Noel Lyne Albert (Charles McCoy) of Azilda, Allain Albert (Michèle) of Hanmer and Roque Albert (Sylvie) of Verner. Special grandfather of Jennifer, Jeffery, Jaysen, Brigitte, Geneviève, Zachari, Samuel, Sophie, Eric, Kari, Page, Tali-Anne, Hali-Marie, Shay-Lyne, Danièle, Amélie, and Chanelle; and great grandpere of Lily, Ellie, Lexa, and Rylee. Dear brother of Marie-Jeanne Wigle and the late Alice Albert, Rita Kachur, and Richard Albert. A Blind River school teacher for forty years, Georges relaxed playing golf and hockey. He was also a champion of francophone rights in the area, president of both the local separate school board and credit union for a number of years, and a dedicated member of the Liberal Party of Ontario and Canada.
