She also volunteered her time to the Blessed Kateri Catholic Church on the Mississauga First Nation, performing various tasks. Lena spent her Sundays preparing large meals for her family, often using vegetables grown from her own garden. She especially looked forward to springtime when her and her husband William would head to the sugar bush to collect sap and boil it into maple syrup. She enjoyed bingo and played every Tuesday and Sunday. She had a positive outlook on life and was always ready and willing to lend a hand and help those in need.

A visitation for Lena will start at 12pm on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Mississauga First Nation Band Hall and will continue until her funeral service and mass on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at 11am. Burial to follow at St. Edwards Cemetery. Father Ignatius Xavier officiating. Immediately following Lena’s burial, the family invites you to join them in a feast at the Mississauga First Nation Band Hall. Arrangements entrusted to Menard Funeral Home
