Social media is abuzz with reports of an apparent seismic event in the Walden area at around 2:10 a.m. Friday.

“OK, did anybody else just feel that?! Woke me up from a dead sleep … Inco or earthquake? 2:10 a.m.,” Kayla Condrotta posted on the “What's Going on in Lively” Facebook page.

Several people replied, saying they felt the same phenomenon.

“Yes!!! Major rattling and shaking - Black Lk. Road area,” said Anne Langton Jeffkins.

“Same here and I’m in Whitefish,” said Braxtyn Harju.

Sudbury.com is attempting to get down to the bottom of these reports. We've contacted Vale to see if they can shed any light on the situation.

A local radio station is reporting that they have confirmed it was a minor earthquake.
