Health Sciences North Foundation, Health Sciences North Volunteer Association, NEO Kids Foundation and Northern Cancer Foundation have teamed up to launch a monthly online 50/50 cash lottery.
The foundations and volunteer groups are using a digital technology platform to operate the online 50/50 raffle, which launched June 1.
Tickets can be purchased online at from the comfort of home for 10 for $10, 30 for $20 and 100 for $40. The jackpot will be updated online in real-time for each month’s draw and will continue to grow as more people participate.
Half of the jackpot total each month will go to the drawn ticket holder and the other half will go to support patient care at Health Sciences North (HSN), said a press release.
Funds raised will make a difference in the lives of those living with cancer, how the tiniest patients receive specialized pediatric care and ensuring equipment is in place when needed to provide quality patient care.
“We’re excited to be able to offer this new fundraising initiative that will benefit patients requiring care at HSN,” said Anthony Keating, president and CDO of foundations and volunteer groups at HSN.
“Our three foundations and volunteer association have teamed up on this initiative to have a larger impact. We look forward to engaging with the community to raise much needed funds to support all programs across HSN that provide services for people living in northeastern Ontario.”
Residents across Ontario over the age of 18 have the opportunity to purchase HSN 50/50 Cash Lottery for the North tickets online for a chance to win. Tickets for the inaugural draw are available for purchase until June 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.
The winning ticket will be drawn on Thursday, July 2 at 11 a.m. and posted on the website, and across all social media channels of the Foundations.
