Organizers of this evening’s planned Tree of Lights ceremony hosted by the St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation have cancelled the event due to poor weather starting in Elliot Lake. It was originally scheduled for 7 p.m. in front of the hospital.

“Due to the incoming storm we have decided to postpone tonight’s planned Tree of Lights ceremony,” Foundation chairman William Elliott said in an email to Elliot Lake Today.

The event will likely be rescheduled to Sunday Dec. 12 at 7 p.m., he said.
