Three charged in Elliot Lake pot bust

Police say 26 cannabis marijuana plants were seized

ELLIOT LAKE — On June 27, 2017, at 8:15 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a residence on Bouck Road in Elliot Lake to execute a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) warrant.

Members from the Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), East Algoma Crime Unit, Emergency Response Team (ERT), the Canine Unit, and uniform members were involved with the investigation.    

As a result of the warrant being executed, police seized 26 Cannabis Marijuana plants and the following people were charged:

Samuel McCleery, 28 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Produce a Schedule II substance - Cannabis Marihuana, contrary to section 7(1) of the CDSA

Jacob Moore, 25 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Produce a Schedule II substance - Cannabis Marihuana, contrary to section 7(1) of the CDSA

Rosanna Shiels, 29 years of age, of Elliot Lake, Ontario, was charged with:

  • Produce a Schedule II substance - Cannabis Marihuana, contrary to section 7(1) of the CDSA

The accused persons are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake, Ontario on August 1, 2017.
